ABSTRACT

This investigation was made on 603 (48%) male and 654 (52%) female students making a total of 1257 students in six primary schools in Afyon. Of these, 102 (16.9%) female and 22 (3.4%) male students were found to have Pediculosis capitis infestation. The relationship between infestation and the students' age, sex, education of the parents, income of the family, construction of the houses and the presence of bathrooms in the house was investigated and the results were discussed. It has been found that 117 (96.7%) out of 121 (97.6%) students that applied Kwellada lotion containing permethrin were cured.
