ABSTRACT
A total of 65 wild mice were trapped in 7 centers in forest areas of Northern Turkey. The numbers and the species identification of the mice were as follows; 22 (33.8%) Apodemus sylvaticus, 13 (20.0%) Apodemus flavicollis, 14 (21.3%) Crocidura suaveolens, 13 (20.0%) Microtus epiroticus and 3 (4.6%) Mus macedenicus. Trypomastigote forms of Trypanosoma musculi were seen in the blood smears of 3 mice. This study reports the presence of this protozoon in the wild mice in Turkey for the first time.
