ABSTRACT

This study was carried out in order to detect the distribution of Linguatula serrata in dogs in the Erzurum Province. For this purpose, 48 dogs were examined. During the necropsy; adult L. serrata were found in 4 (8.33 %) out of 48 dogs. The number of parasites in each dog varied from 1 to 10, and a total of 20 adult parasites, of which 13 were female (65.0%) and 7, male (35.0 %), were collected. Parasites were detected in 4 dogs, 1 male and 3 female so that the total percentage of infection in males was 3.84% and 13.63% in females.
