ABSTRACT

In this study, the malaria cases detected by The Fight against Malaria Directorship, during 1998-2002, were investigated, retrospectively. A total of 53,403 blood smears were examined during this 5-year period and malaria was found in 188 (0.35%) cases of whom 110 (58.5%) were male and 78 (41.5%), female. Plasmodium vivax caused all of the cases and 78.1% of the positive cases were imported.
