ABSTRACT
Blastocystis hominis is an anaerobic protozoon which causes intermittent diarrheas of long duration in immunosuppressed patients. An acute diarrhea caused by B. hominis was detected in a patient who had received immunosuppressive therapy and who was cured successfully with metronidazole.
